Zero-based budgeting is a method where every dollar of income is assigned a specific purpose before the month begins. Instead of tracking what you've spent, you plan where every dollar will go, ensuring your income minus expenses equals zero. This gives you complete control and awareness of your finances.
If you host your own instance, yes! Your financial data stays on your server and never leaves your infrastructure. However, if you create an account on someone else's self-hosted instance (like a public instance at limitlessbudget.app), your data will be stored on their server, and they will have access to it. For maximum privacy, we recommend hosting your own instance. The original developers of Limitless Budget do not collect, store, or have access to any financial information.
If you create an account on someone else's self-hosted instance, your data will be stored on their server. The instance owner will have access to your data, so you should only use instances you trust. Before creating an account, review the instance owner's privacy policy and terms of service. For maximum privacy and control, consider hosting your own instance instead.
